From September 14th (Sat) to September 28th (Sat), 2019, the Asakusa lantern Festival will be held around Asakusa Shrine in Taito-ku, Tokyo.
The “Asakusa lantern Festival” was started to revitalize Taito Ward, centered on “NPO Women’s Power” formed by women managers in Asakusa.
Currently, there are about 500 large and small lanterns on Hanasashiki Street, 6th District Broadway, Sushiya Street, and Kaminarimon Yanagikoji with Asakusa Shrine as the main venue.
The lanterns are filled with messages, pictures and haiku by local residents as well as people from all over the country.
Why don’t you visit the autumn bud festival where you can enjoy the contrast between the light up of the modern Tokyo Sky Tree and the soft light of the traditional fox?
